Who Is Next In Germany?

Sat Oct 18, 2003 7:03 am

All the news here speculating, which german airline will be next to bite the dust. Nobody wants to name one, but they say there will be more to go.
What do you think? Who is next?
Here's what I think about some:

Air Berlin - This one has over-expansion written all over it. All of a sudden a low-fare airline.

Germania - Cut a good deal with their F-100s, but are very unknown to common people to install themselves as scheduled carrier. Could lose their HLX-biz, due to available over-capacity at HF. Management has been described as 'dubious' (Spiegel).

Hamburg International - Not linked to a tour operator...that's what broke YP's neck. No money to be made in ad-hoc business. I'll say they are gone by next year.

dba - BA's ex-'child of hate' let's see how they do on their own.

Now go ahead and bash me....
