Gandalf In Financial Trouble, Copa 738s And More!

Copa Airlines
Took delivery of its first Boeing 737-800 on Friday.
Copa is scheduled to take 1 more B737-800 and 1 B737-700 before the end of the year
increasing its fleet of B737 Next Generation aircraft to 16 units.

Cirrus Air
Will inaugurate nonstop service from Frankfurt to Bratislava (Slovakia) on 01Dec03.
The daily service will be operated with an Embraer 145.

New Millenium Air
A new airline from Gambi operating the Ilyushin 62.

Slovak Airlines
Will inaugurate nonstop service from Bratislava to Brussels on 27Oct03.
The airlines will operate 3 flights a week (Mon/Wed/Fri) with a Boeing 737-300.

Will increase frequency on its Bratislava to Moscow route from 3 to 4 flights a week on 26Oct03.
The new flight will operate on Sundays and is in addition to flights on Mon/Wed/Fri.
All flights will be operated with a Boeing 737-300.

Air Mauritanie
Will inaugurate nonstop service from Nouakchott to Kayes (Mali) from 05Nov03.
Flights will operate once a week departing Nouakchott on Wednesday evenings and
returning on Thursday mornings with a Fokker 28.

Ryanair
Will inaugurate twice-daily nonstop service from London Stansted to Reus (Spain) on 06Nov03.

Lufthansa Cargo
Signed a wet lease for 3 Boeing 747-200 Freighters with Air Atlanta Icelandic.
The aircraft are scheduled to operate from Frankfurt from Jun04 and Jul04.

Gandalf Airlines
Because or financial difficulties the airline has been forced to reduce its operations.
Flight reductions on the following routes :
Brescia to Bari = from 2 to 1 a day
Brescia to Naples = from 3 to 1 a day
Brescia to Rome FCO = from 4 to 3 a day
Following routes were discontinued :
Bari to Genoa
Brescia to Barcelona
Pisa to Catania
Pisa to Madrid

US Airways
Filed an application with DOT to start service from Philadelphia to Glasgow.
If approved US Airways would start daily nonstop service in May04 with a Boeing 767-200.

Jet2
Will inaugurate twice-daily nonstop service from Leeds to Belfast International on 17Nov03.

KLM
Flight KL734, a Boeing 747-400 en route from Aruba to Amsterdam, was forced to make an emergency landing
at Cork yesterday morning after a fire warning came on in the cockpit indicating a fire in the cargo compartment.
The aircraft landed in Cork around 1000 ; no fire was found.

That 737-800 looks beautiful in Copa colors, I was told today that it was going to be used on flights between PTY-MIA and SDQ (among other destinations)

Is this the first 737-800W to be used in airline service (ie non-BBJ2)?

Copa's 737-800 looks really nice.  Big thumbs up How many 737-800s is Copa getting?

copa will be adding 1 more 800 and will problably conver the 2 remaining options it has, for more info read this topic
