Who's Going To MAN Tomorrow To Watch Concorde?

Who's going to MAN tomorrow to watch Concorde? If you are going, what time are you planning to arrive?

I understand 8,000 showed at BHX yesterday, as more and more people realise what is happening this week I expect the crowds to increase in an exponential manner at each venue.

Unfortunately I cannot go to MAN tomorrow but my advice - turn up early as the aviation visitors park whilst large be surprised if can hold 10,000 and what about parking?

There will be 30 minutes at MAN where a clear view of Concorde shall be available 14:00 - 14:40, I believe.

Enjoy  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I was speaking with the guy in the Aviation Shop at the Viewing Park yesterday and he told me that they would be opening the gates at 0700-ish and also opening two extra car parks. They are expecting 1000`s to turn up so it will be pretty crowded (what are your chances of getting on to one of the raised viewing mounds ????).

I did notice that they were erecting some tents at one end of the park, with what looked like picnic tables and chairs ready to go in them - probably for invited guests ?

Good thing is that the entrance fee will remain at GBP2.00 per car plus 50p for extra persons after the driver, also they will be running shuttle busses from the terminal area, much like at the weekends.

Not sure if I`ll make it myself, but if the weather stays as clear and sunny as it is today, then Cheadle will have a pretty good view of the Paraffin Pencil as she makes her last approach here.... unless there`s going to be one more when she comes back to start her retirement as an exhibit in the viewing park...

So, for now anyway, au revoir Concorde  Crying

I won't be going to the viewing park because, as you both said, it'll be totally full. Instead, I'll go to the top of the T1 car park (my usual place) and watch from there. Granted, the view won't be as good, but it'll hopefully be less crowded and I do, after all, have powerful binoculars. In addition, I only want to see it land and takeoff, plus all the normal movements, so...

I'll be arriving at about 0925.

I am not sure when Concorde is due to arrive (flight BA9020) but think of the Manchester traffic M6, M56 approach roads to the airport are busy as the best of times, imagine the effect of 10,000 extra visitors on these roads.

It's due in at about 1145.

I'm going by train to avoid the certain rush of cars.

Also bear in mind that the current forecast would be to use RWY 06.

I was there, amid the predictably huge crowds. But were you?
