** F A A ** In Need Of An Overhaul?

Thu Oct 23, 2003 4:20 am

Any thoughts on the notion that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), is in need of an overhaul... or for that matter, to be -

Held responsible for acts such as 9/11, AA JFK-SDQ, or TWA 800??

- They are however resposible for insurring safety, aircraft checks, backround checks, and so forth!

The list goes on, do you feel as if the F.A.A. is doing a good job?

Regards,

I actually agree with him. The FAA has caused many of the crashes we have had.

If they would have put those smoke detectors in cargo holds in 1990, then Valujet 592 would have known about the smoke before the fire even started. Also, if there would have been suppression systems on board, it could have stalled the fire until the plane could have gotten on the ground. Think about it. The FAA does need to be looked into.

But, we all know it will never happen.

I thought the terrorist were the ones who were responsible for 9/11.

Hindsight is 20/20. I hope you have smoke detectors in your cars truck... considering the fuel tank is back there.

Had Valujet not trusted a crappy shipping company there'd be no fire in the first place. Don't hold the FAA accountable for those crashes. The FAA is indeed in need of overhaul, but it is far from unsafe. I can't say they've ever been directly responsible for an accident.

And yes, over 100 posts in less than a week, he's a Futterman clone! (Though futterman has gotten alot better about it.)
