747-400F For Air China

Sat Oct 25, 2003 3:48 am

World Airline Fleets reports that SIA has leased out B747-412F 9V-SFC to Air China. The aircraft has been re-registered B-2409 a few weeks ago.

Other unreported news is that South African has returned its first 747-300 to the lessor after receiving their 4th A340-600. The aircraft in question is ZS-SKB, a former Swissair aircraft built 1983.

Air China currently has B 742Fs and there is massive cargo potential to exploit out of CHINA in the future so Air China better seriously start leasing in or buying many B 747Fs as China Southern has already stated that it wants 10 B 744Fs to add to its existing fleet of 2-3 B 74Fs.

And of cause we didn´t have to wait too long to see it here. Hopefully Air China orders some more of them soon (although their livery is one of the less attractive).

Picture taken the begining of September and posted on A.Net soon afterwards. Aircraft still carrying the 9V-SFC registration.
