Today in one of Hollands biggest newspapers, a big article about this flight on it's front cover:
"Passengers of a Boeing 767 from Martinair refused to fly further and wanted a new aircraft, after it had twice a technical problem. What's very unusual is, that the direction of Martinair approved in it. Pilots of the plane had to stop the flight twice on its route to Miami Florida. The first time, a emergency landing took place in Shannon Ireland and the second time, the plane couldn't leave from Shannon.
The passengers lost faith in the airplane and wanted another one. After a 24 hour delay, passengers went to Miami with another plane, which came in from Amsterdam.
After just one hour in flight, 272 passengers and 9 crew members, had to make an emergency landing at the Irish airport Shannon and leave the aircraft as quick as possible. A strange chemical smell occurred in the plane, the plane already 550 kilometers out on sea returned. All emergency services went to the runway, but everything went good, no assistance was necessary.
A defect door heater (don't know the technical term...) had a problem, which spread a strange smell, via the toilets. After the problem was solved, the pilots wanted to leave, but again another problem occurred, which was solved very quick, but passengers refused to fly further".
