One DC-9 Left For AirTran

Wed Nov 05, 2003 9:52 am

Ship 936 operated its final revenue flight this evening as Flight 385 from MLI to ATL. It will ferry to MCO tonight as Flight 8936. We now have one operating DC-9 left...Ship 949. It will be here for at least 3 more days and likely up to our 10th Anniversary Party next week. Love those "Diesel 9's"

It's a sad day when the thought comes to mind of my favorite aircraft being turned into cars and soda cans! Groundstop, diesels are some of the most fuel efficient engines made. And, the newer diesels are extreamly clean burning, that is if they have a clean airfilter in them.

Was waiting outside for a ride today at the CLE airport and a NW DC9 came into the gate, WOW the sound and smell of jet fuel. Warm autumn night.

Good riddence. Sorry, but I don't drive a Model T either. I just hope Airtran knows what their getting into with the long haul battles in the future with DL when they take delivery of the 73G......................

Those DC9s will be missed by us. Well, a few agents I know will be glad to be rid of them.

Airliner,

The DC9 you saw in MIA today was 949. It came in from RDU this morning and then did two MIA turns this afternoon. Currently, its sitting at the end of C-concourse receiving some overnight work. Tommorrow, it will do two more MIA turns.

Well I was hoping to have a chance to work on them when I finish school but I guess this is just part of the move to a bigger better future. Anyone have any update on the 737's delivery date, I have been hearing that we might take some a little earlier than planned?
