That's a nice combination of an MD-11 and an A380.

SOrry, the image is kind of crappy and the lines ARE actually straight, just distorted because my mom framed it for me and I had to take a picture with a digital camera, not a scan.

I would design a 20 pax regional jet. Many small communities are losing airline service because the airlines that served them with small turboprops have retired those a/c, and those cities were cut as a result. Would make the a/c a light as possible using composites, and make the cabin feel roomier than it actually is. Give the a/c a very good short field performance, and make it as economical per seat to operate as a larger RJ.

1. A supersonic widebody with passenger capacity equivalent to 767, A330, or 777.

2. A 767 with 3 or 4 engines. Kind of a junior DC-10.

3. A 727 and/or 707 with the nose of a 757 and updated engines and avionics.

4. Bring back the VC-10 and L-1011 but with updated engines and avionics. These looked perfect as is.

Well if I ever finish my engineering degree....I would like to start design work and feasablity studies on new supersonic transports of all sizes.

Also I'd like to work on something readically different. A different body if you will...

sure does look like a hybrid MD-11 and A380...... let's really spice it up and add a lower level entryway for passengers, just like the IL-86.

Several Lines:

Design it around a simple premise: Comfort. 18-19" wide seat and standard 35" pitch. As for sizes:

Regional Aircraft - (7E7-60/70/80/90)

Redesign the 717 with materials and technology used in the 7E7. Make it a standard 4 across aircraft in 60, 70, 80 and 90 seat versions.

Bump and Run - (7E7-120/140/160/180)

Redesign the 737 with materials and technology used in the 7E7. Widen the fuselage to accomodate the larger seats and pitch. Have a quick add assemble line and offer the aircraft in 120, 140, 160, and 180 seat variants. Same look as the 7E7.

Large Cap Short and Long - (7E7-200/240/260/280 - Note the trend)

Current product under development. Short and long haul versions.

777 Replacement - 7E7-300/320/340/360/380

Expansion of current 7E7 plan.

747 Replacement - 7E7-400/450/500/550

Is that a hump on the back of a 7E7?

I'd like to use a 764, but design it as a "mobile home" type. It would act as corperate office as well as an apartment with an entertianment center, office, dining room, living room, libary, and of course bedrooms and bathrooms.

Why not the Tu-244, I wonder how much it would be to wind tunnel test your design?

It'd seat about 300 people, large wingspan, two engines only, the engines would be huge, raked wingtips, an upper deck for crew rest, longer range than any other commercial aircraft....

...oh wait, such a plane is already being made Big grin Big grin

I'd HAVE to design (If I had the smarts) a larger, more lucrative SST on the Concorde model. We just can't allow the airways to be without these graceful birds for very long!!
Finally made it to an airline mecca!

I'd design a new L-1011.....the L-1011-600. Same fuselage as the -1, only modified with new avionics, like Bwc said.

I would also like to design a plane for personal use. About the size of a small sedan, and in the same interior layout as a car. Have small twin jets mounted on the back. But the inside would be just as nice and look almost the same as a car. I think that'd be neat.
