The Mile High Club

Wed Nov 05, 2003 6:50 pm

I myself am not a member. I don't know if I could get away with taking care of business in the cabin, lav, or flight deck. Plus, it takes two to tango, enough 'courage' between two people with the right opportunity has not come along yet.

So at 5,280+ feet above the Earth, you can consider yourself an eligible to be a member of the mile high club. I have heard rumors that in order to actually get into the club, you need to engage with a current member of the club. Also, I have heard that you need to engage in the cockpit, no pun intended, to become a part of the club. Is it required to go all the way for it to count? What is your take on The Mile High Club? Are you a member, were you instated by the rules above? Are there additional requirements?

There's only about 10,001 postings on this subject throughout these boards... I suggest the search feature.

That aside, if you're really that desperate... there are plenty of private charters specifically bookable for this sort of thing. Nude Air, is however, not one of them.

Search brings 11 Mile High club. Not interested in doing it in the Concorde anymore, I'm already a part of the on the ground club. Not too desperate but, wouldnt a private charter kind of defeat the riskyness of it. The thrill, I would imagine, would be a part of the kill...right?

Don't want to brag, but I am a member. I have renew my membership many times. The best place to join would be on a Boeing 747-400.

You have more privacy on United Airlines B747-400 First Class suites.

The lavatory of a United Airlines/Qantas Airways B747-400 the very last one at the end of the tail right next to the stair case to the crew rest.

The new Emirates A340-500 suites should be perfect-you can close them so as long as you and your partner are quiet, no one will ever know! Big grin

The whole thing is overblown. No pun intended.

When you get right down to it, you're just having sex in a public toilet. Someone with herpes could have just taken a dump there 2 minutes ago. How charming.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

A YYZ 717 has just stated. I don't think I would be able to bring myself to do the deed on any aircraft. I have had many flights funny thing just to Vegas where I have had a couple of Passengers join. I find it totally appauling. ON a flight of that length and with 180 passengers on the 320 going to the washroom, think about how clean those washrooms are. WE at skyservice only to a quick check to see if the lav needs any supplies, if by chance it is really dirty, we normlly lock it off. I almost joined this summer but then actually had a flash of how dirty planes can be. So I decided against it  Smile Happy flights

Delta's B767-400's arent bad in the very back. One of the lavs is handicapped accessable, and is a little bigger. On a nice night flight, creep back there. Alot of us stand back there during the day flights, in the galley, just to stretch..usually not a soul there.

I only narrowly missed doing it in DEN.. damn... but in all seriousness, I think it has to be done at 6080 ft on the QFE(!!!)... not QNH!

She needs to sit on the small wash basin/counter while you nail her standing up, unless you can both do it standing up. (I would imagine).

Not to offend anyone here and maybe partly because I'm well into middle age but I frankly don't even see the appeal in this-what's the big deal about having sex in an airplane? I'm no prude but I don't see why anyone would want to do it-aside from a hormone crazed teenager. I'd prefer to just look out the window and enjoy the flight, sex is the last thing on my mind when I fly. And as others said, there could be a hygiene risk as well. Sounds to me like something to steer well clear of. Do some of you guys have that much trouble keeping in your pants that you must do it outside of the bedroom? As an aside, I remember reading in Playboy awhile back that a Virgin-Atlantic A340-600, almost new in service, suffered some cabin damage due to sexual hijinks aboard. It's one thing to do this on a charter flight catering to such behavior, it's another to do it on a regular commercial flight where other passengers may be affected. I'd be quite enraged if I found out this was going on on my flight and would not hesitate to make a complaint against whoever was involved. Sorry if I sound like a puritan party-pooper but this disgusts me.

I'm with AvObserver. I couldn't have said it any better.

Why are you so eager to join the Mile high Club? As it was put by two people now, all it is is having sex in a dirty, cramped bathroom that probably isn't even as comfortable as a public restroom at a truck stop. So what's the big deal?

I admit to being a virgin, true and quite proud of that fact as well, but still, even if I weren't I wouldnt have the desire to just go off and have sex while flying. Heck I'm happy to just be flying. A visit to the lavatory is nothing more than an annoyance inflight, I'd only go there if I absolutely had to. They aren't exactly fun places to hang out.

I dont understand all the hoop-la.

I think people like it for the risk of it. I would imagine if you get off just by flying, imagine getting off while flying! I haven't come across anyone eager to join the club yet. Who said that it had to be done in the lav? What about in the cabin under a blanket? Didn't Branson encourage people to do it on his planes? Hey, people have sex in elevators, offices, cars, trains, why not planes? At least the people who do it in planes have a club...

Lauda Air gave out condoms in the on board amenity kit given to all Amadeus Class passengers.

I agree people like to do it for the risk and danger involved. It brings a little spice, and hey, i dont think its something you predict, maybe you meet someone on the plane where there is instant chemistry and lust and only one solution of "relief" exists. I personally am not a member but was close to becoming one.

AVObserver, i also agree somewhat with you, but hey like i said, joining the Mile High Club is not always on the schedule.

I'm a member, and I'm proud I am. It's one of those "been there, done that" things. It's like when you go to a city and you see all the sights: You are on an airplane and there is only a limited number of things you can do there, and joining the club is one of them, certainly one of the most exciting.

I wouldn't necissarily do it again, it's a lot of hassle. Just get a room at your destination airport and for a little money you get all the comfort and privacy you want. But hey, I'm still proud I did it.

I think the forbidden thrill of the Mile High Club will come to an end when the A380-800's enter service. I've heard a couple of airlines that will get the A380 are planning to install two-seat "roomettes" for their premium class passengers, and well, it just isn't the same....  Innocent

You can have sex at 5,280 feet in Denver by "doing it" on the State Capitol steps. Quite sure you'd be arrested though...... LOL

I can't belieeeeeve I'm posting this...

First of all, to anyone who doesn't understand why anyone would want to join the club - personally, to me just flying is sexy - so of course when you're in a sexy environment, ummmm...(dear God I hope none of my friends here in ATL read this! Heheheh)

Second of all...regarding whether I am a member or not...I have two words for ya: Piper Seneca.

Muuuuaaahahahaaaaaa...
