Sri Lankan 4R-ADF

Thu Nov 06, 2003 8:54 am

Hello guys,

I shot a Sri Lankan Airbus A340-300 today in FRA. The registration was 4R-ADF. I haven't found anything with this reg. Sri Lankan say on their website that they have 5 343s, so this would be the sixth. Do you have any info on this?

4R-ADE A340-313X is ex F-GTUA
4R-ADF A340-313X is ex F-GTUB

Sri Lanken now have 5 A340's as 4R-ADD was destroyed.

Add to that, SriLankan will be getting two ex-AOM A340-200s before the year is out.

Zizou,

These 2 are the ex AOM 340's.

The initial talk was of course as you have stated the leasing of 2 A340-200's, but they have gone for the A340-300's now.

As far as I have heard, there is not going to be any 340-200's added to the fleet for the time being.

I wonder whether I'll be flying aboard 4R-ADF this Sunday, routing CMB-KUL-SIN. I wonder what reg. 340 I'll be on tomorrow night (LHR-MLE-CMB). Any info.?

Srilankan_340,

This is news to me, thanks for bringing this up. Any idea on where they will get the 2 A340-300s now?, seeing that Emirates and Gulf Air have picked up the remaining SQ ones.

See a picture of 4R-ADF (c/n 374)

It was done at ZRH yesterday, 5th November.

Just as an information, 4R-ADF flew CMB-ZRH-FRA-CMB yesterday which is in fact not a scheduled flight since both, FRA and ZRH should be turn-around in Winterschedule.

4R-ADF seems to be ex Air Lib Airbus A340-313 (X) F-GTUB and has been delivered to UL a few weeks ago.

What do you mean with did they only paint the titles? For me it looks like the normal SriLankan Airlines livery.
