Q200 Interiors

Thu Nov 06, 2003 9:06 am

Hey, I recently took a trip on Horizon air and flew on a Q200, anyways, I noticed that they have the same cabin design and interior as the Q400s! Do all Q200s have this same design? Thanks!

What is a Q200...?? Never heard of one.. Horizon has the Dash 8-202's, Dash 8-400's and the Canadair CL-600's...

I was wondering what he meant. I knew the new -400 had picked up the 'Q' for its refined quite performance, but not the -200......she is still pretty noisy..

Yeah, once a Dash 8, always a Dash 8. Yes, Horizon's Dash 8 (BabyDash) and SuperDash 8s do have the same interiors. The CRJ-700s also have the burgundy leather seats too. The -400 has the best leg room.

Do the Dash 8 Q200s at Mesa have the same interior as the QX ones?

In the QX inflight magazine, they refer to them as the "Bombardier Q200," whether this actually exists or not.

ok... there is no "Q200". It is just a nickname really. These are what they are:
Dash8-100
Dash8-200
Dash8-Q200
Dash8-300
Das8-Q400

In this case we would be talking about a "Bombardier Dash 8-Q202"

The Q200 does exist....it was an update to the old -200 series to include the NVS system. Not all -200 are considered "Quiet" however. I don't believe Mesa's are Q series. Here's a copy of the description on the Bombardier website:

"Like our CRJ family, the Q Series-as the Dash 8 has been known since 1996-also flies in three sizes: the 37-seat* Q200; the 50-seat* Q300, and; the highly advanced 70-seat* Q400. In fact, the Q Series introduced a whole new generation of turboprops with its revolutionary Noise and Vibration Suppression (NVS) system. NVS lowers cabin noise and vibration to levels previously unattainable in a turboprop… lower in fact than many commercial jet interiors. And, the Q Series also carries a common type rating, maximizing the benefits of common crew qualifications."

Catch a ride on a smile!

I was on Horizon's "q200" last night I am not sure if it was really Q or not but I am assuming it is the old 200s as it was pretty much as loud as the EMB120 i flew earlier on.

All our (Horizon) 200's are of the "Q" series. However, the ANVS system in them is not the most reliable system in the world.  Sad

Flyboy80, Horizon have two slightly different interiors in the Q200's, not readily noticeable to most. I believe we're switching them over in C-Check to be one...which, yes is the same as the Q400.

The Q200 in general has the same interior appointments and features as the Q400.

Seats and colors and carpet, of course, are up to Horizon.

The Mesa aircraft are not Q, they have an older look to them.
