Longest MD-87 Route - Am JFK-MTY?

Mon Nov 10, 2003 10:17 pm

A friend just pointed out that AeroMexico flies JFK-MTY (Monterrey, Mexico) non-stop with an MD-87 four times weekly. This is route is 1,820 and, according to Sabre, 5 hours block time. This has got to be one of the longest MD-87 routes, no? Are there any AM crew members on here that fly this route ... I wonder if it takes weight restrictions and if there is any IFE onboard?

I was booked on this flight for December 17, but two weeks ago AM agent called to say that my flight was cancelled, they will not operate the Wednesday flight anymore... too bad, I wanted to try this long journey on the MD87...
