AA: DFW/MIA-GNV This Spring Pending Subsidies

Thu Nov 13, 2003 2:08 am

American Eagle will start non-stop service between Gainesville, Florida and both Miami and Dallas this spring pending the approval of back-up subsidies from Gainesville Regional Airport according to a formal proposal recently submitted to the airport. American would offer one daily ATR-72 to Miami and one daily ERJ-140 to Dallas. Other proposals include Continental Express service to Houston and Newark and Continental Connection service (op. by Gulfstream International and Cape Air) to Tampa and Miami.

Looks like AMR wants GNV to absorb a lot of the costs associated with operations from their airport. As pro-AA as I am, I think perhaps GNV should take a pass, if the article is accurate.
