India and Russia today agreed to increase the frequency of flights between the two countries.
''Five additional Aeroflot flights would be flown to Mumbai in addition to the five existing ones to Delhi,'' Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who is on a three-day visit to Russia, here said. Mumbai flights will be operated by Boeing 767-300ERs.
The Russian airline is also being granted fifth freedom rights to Kabul from India, subject to the agreement of the Afghanistan government, he said.
**India is smart to let SU fly pax and cargo between KAB and INDIA because besides ARIANA no other airline flies the route due to the closure of PAK airspace to Indias airline and India is playing quite a key role in the political and economic reconstruction of Afghanistan as it is more closer to the Karzai Govt than Pakistan is. I bet a lot of cargo especially will be sent on SUs flights. Lets hope that the Afghan Govt gives SU clearance.
