Southern Africa Carrier´s Fleet Plans

Wed Nov 19, 2003 5:01 pm

I´m interested in learning what fleet plans these carriers currently have:
- Air Tanzania
- Air Zimbabwe
- Air Botswana
- Air Madagaskar
- Sun-Air
- Nationwide Airlines

Anyone able to provide some information?

Regards

Air Zimbabwe were looking at ATR planes to replace their 737-200's earlier in the year, but the deal appears to have fallen through.

The 737's are too big given the low demand there at the moment (last 3 flights I had on them - VFA-HRE, HRE-MRU, MRU-HRE back in March - all had less than 30 pax on them) so they do need something smaller, but with Zimbabwe's chronic shortages of foreign currency I doubt they'll be replacing them anytime soon...

Is the CE flight all economy ? They publish a W class, which could be Premium Economy...

The CE flight to LGW has a "Economy Plus" section that will feature seats with an increased pitch and baggage allowance, although all meals will be the same.

Do you know what the seating layout/pitch is ? Hopefully not too squished, LON-JNB is a LONG way.

The cabin will be configured with 234 seats, I don't know what the seating layout/pitch will be though.
