I might be wrong, but wouldn´t it have been wiser to introduce a CVG-MUC flight instead of adding a second frequency from Atlanta?
Considering that most people who travel to the US from Munich on Delta are connecting to some other destination and regarding the not very central location of ATL (though it´s a huge hub, I know), a CVG flight would have offered more flexibility and shorter flight times to many cities in the northeast wouldn´t it?

9V-SPF- I totally agree. I just flew ATL-MUC last week. Since my origin is Buffalo, I had to fly all the way down to ATL to catch my flight across the pond. It would have shortened my overall flying time if I could have flown from CVG. I'm sure there are many other pax from the Northeast who would prefer to have a CVG option. In fact, I would never fly DL again to MUC. I'd go on US from Philly to get the shorter flights.

BTW- the flight from ATL to MUC was almost full. The flight from MUC to ATL was oversold and they were offering $600. in vouchers plus a Hotel voucher for volunteers to stay over and fly out the next day. I can see why more capacity to/from MUC is needed.
