Thai Airways Flying Into Luang Prabang ...

Fri Nov 21, 2003 4:14 pm

I have seen a report, that Thai Airways will start operations into Laos city Luang Prabang as soon as possible. What aircraft do they use into LPQ?

Lao Airlines flies into LPQ with their 320, would a 734 fit as well?

Thai will fly its aging ATR-72 into Luang Prabang. They will fly not direct from Bangkok but from Ching Mai while Bangkok Airways fly direct from bangkok and additional flight via Sukhothai...

Thank you ROP. Have seen those flights in the CRS. When I heard that TG will start into LPQ I was thinking of flights from BKK but as you said, PG and 9P both fly on this route, 9P even non-stop.

TG flies between CNX and LPQ on the other days than QV does.

How many AT7 does TG still have?

Yes, TG has 2 ATR-72 operating into some small airpost in the northern Thailand like Mae Sot (MAQ) and Mae Hong Sorn. I flyied on it once from Bangkok to MAQ 4 years ago. I think it's quite safe on this plane.
