The fares from Los Angeles area airports to LAS
should all be about the same.
I'm not from the area, but have spent a lot of time there. So, here is my take on using other airports than LAX
Assuming you will be staying in the more tourist areas like Hollywood/W. Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica - Ontario, Orange County and Long Beach are going to be rather a pain to get to. Burbank and LAX
are your best bets.
Now, if you plan your trip so that the last day you are in LA
, you move to a hotel close to DisneyLand, then, that would be different, you might want to use Orange County or Long Beach.
Get a map of the LA
area, and think lots of traffic. The rule for getting around in LA
is, the farther you have to travel, the more traffic tie ups you will be stuck in.
Its just a fact of life in LA
. And if you ask me, its all kind of worth it, great town LA
