DC-9-30 Production History

Wed Nov 26, 2003 10:18 am

From what i have found out, in 1996, 880 jets were in service, while seven years later that number has fallen to 427.

How many DC-9-30s were produced by McDonnell Douglas?

621 DC-9-30s plus another 41 DC-9-30s for the USAF & USN were assembled from 1965 thru 1982 when USAir took the last DC-9 ever made. The -30 was the most numerous variant of the 5 subtypes Douglas offered of the 'diesel 9'  Wink/being sarcastic Regards.

Including military variants (C-9) there were 668 -30 Series built between 1967 and 1982. In addition, there were 137 -10s, ten -20s, 71 -40s and 96 -50s built.

The overwhelming majority of DC-9-30's were built from 1967 to 1972. Production dropped off sharply thereafter until it ceased in 1981.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.
