UA's EWR Terminal

Sun Nov 30, 2003 9:23 am

How many flights does United have operating in the evening hours from their EWR terminal. Are the only flights the Express flights to IAD and then a few to ORD, DEN, LAX, and SFO?

Also, how many gates total do they operate there, and which one(s) do they share with AirTran?

Thanks,

I believe they still have the entire first satellite of terminal A.

I remember the good old days when you'd see the 747SP getting ready for it's evening departure to London, a D10 heading off on the 7:00p to ORD along with various DC8s, 727s and 737s heading off to CLE and DEN too!

Well it used to be a lot busier.....

MCO, CLE, MIA, BOS, SEA, SAN and others were served plus the hubs were served more frequently. A LHR 777 route was discontinued only weeks ago which has been served for years. I miss all the activity of UAL at EWR.

They have 8 gates, and I think 10 or 11 is shared with airtran.

I WISH THEY WOULD USE ALL OF THEM

I remeber when they had five or six flights to LAX and SFO. Both have been cut down to about three for SFO and two for LAX. (Not exactly sure, not many though.) As much as I dislike UA it is very sad.

It's hard for any carrier to compete in someone else's megahub...UA has chosen to connect EWR with it's other hubs for now. But who knows what the future holds....especially with TED on the horizon.
