Could someone explain to me the relationship with these three groups? Three years ago, I flew (I live in SFO) CO (via IAH) to CDG and returned (CDG-IAH seg) on AF. I earned CO miles on the AF segment, so I presumed that these two were in some kind of partnership. I flew AF nonstop this week to CDG and noticed that CO is not a member or any kind of partner of Skyteam. What are the chances of CO joining Skyteam?

CO and AF used to have a marketing and code-share relationship before the formation of SkyTeam. At that time, AF had a similar deal with DL as well...When the time came to form a third alliance, AF had to pick one U.S. partner, which ended up being DL. CO terminated its agreement with AF after that. However, with the recent DL-CO-NW and AF-KL tie-up, look for CO to apply for SkyTeam membership in the next year.
