Swiss Economy In Europe Concept

Some information about the inflight during a "SWISS in Europe-concept" flight
from Zürich - Copenhagen.

Flight: LX1270, Y-class only
Std: 09:25, Boarding time: 08:55
Aircraft: ERJ145
Class: Y
Seat: 16F

After a late boarding, around 09:10 a bus brought us from gate A5 to our remote stand. I don't know the reg. but it had still the Crossair livery. Not very busy flight, only around 50% I guess. I fell asleep just after pushback at around 09:30 and woke up in Copenhagen at landing so I didn´t see the SWISS Economy trolley, but before I left I took a menucard.

This is the selection onboard Swiss for flight longer than 70 mins:
I didn't try anything but maybe anyone in this forum has tasted any of the items from the menu?

Cheese baguette CHF 7 EUR 4.80
Gourmet Sandwich CHF 9 EUR 6.20

Sandwich or Salad + 1 snack + 1 drink (not champ. or spirits) EUR 10.30

It seems way too expansive, how can they charge 2.80€ for a coffea or a warm tea?

EUR 4.80 for a cheese baguette is worth it if its decent.  Big thumbs up

regarding to my Austrian Error trip rep. you can charge 2.5 EUR for tea or coffee or 3.5 (!) for a bottle of lemon drink (alc free !) - of course only a old aged couple bought a cup of tea and nobody else in the whole and due to the cancelled Air Alps/KLM flight 80% sold ECO class bought anything !
so every desk looked like my one

PS: of course this is too expensive (I bought some beverages on every LCC flight .... but not when I paid A LOT for MY TKT)

I don't know what planet Swiss think they're on doing this sort of thing... Tuesday this week I had the dubious pleasure of making a one-day business trip to Basel from Birmingham, out in the morning, back in the evening, for which Swiss charged me £509 economy class.

When I've paid over £500 for a flight that's less than two hours each way, how they can justify charging me any money for in-flight food and drink is beyond me. After Tuesday's experience, I will never fly Swiss again on principal - they're an absolute disgrace. If they're going to treat people like they're on Ryanair or EasyJet, they should charge people the same fares as Ryanair and EasyJet.

Well charging for food and drink is one thing - being treated like "on Ryanair or EasyJet" is another thing. Swiss staff still do a great job, they are famous for being friendly and treating the passenger quite well. I haven't flown Easyjet yet, but I know what it means to be "treated by Ryanair" (at least sometimes).

Although I find it ridiculous that Swiss charges for food and drink now, they have lowered their fares - you can be sure that you would have had to pay more than £509 a few months ago, keep in mind that samedays are always incredibly expensive.

I flew Swiss back on 29/9,a day trip to ZRH from LHR for some spotting.The ticket cost about 99GBP,not bad as i'd only booked 4 days before!

Havind paid so little i would not object to paying,however,if i had forked out anything over 200GBP i would not be too happy having to pay for anything.

The concepts has its pro's and con's,booking early does have its advantage of a low fare,however,the last minute traveller is getting stung big time.

I am a F/A for Swiss (Avro fleet) and am truly ashamed about the new service. I would not mind it, if we were a low-cost/fares airline. But we're not. We still charge some people more than 1000 euros for a day-trip ticket, and expect them to BUY drinks and snacks.

I also do not understand, that only a year after launching "Destination Excellence" (and all the improved catering that came with it), we go full speed to a totally opposite with the new concept.

Swiss says that "Swiss in Europe" is a huge success. Yet on about 90% of my flights most of the pax are very unhappy and complain.

2 days ago, we received an email from customer service saying they are months behind in replying to pax complaints, and that they cannot answer to our Cabin reports anymore! Go figure....
