Westjet A/c 008 In YYZ?

Tue Dec 02, 2003 12:31 pm

I looked in Flite Trac today and noticed that aircraft 008 was ferried to Toronto for "Terminal Gala" (as per comments). Any idea what it's doing there?

FYI - departing 2100 Dec 2. to ferry back to YYC.

I assume by "Terminal Gala" it has something to do with T-New. If so I'm a bit suprised to see a Westjet involved at T-New since I understand they'll remain at T3 since T-New is for Air Canada and its partners. As an aside, it looks like the temporary infield terminal will not be temporary afterall. It looks like the GTAA are looking at using it to help differeniate service. To me this sounds like a specific terminal being used for international charter flights. Not doubt fees would be less to use the facility.

Maybe there's a special reason for this aircraft to be ferried to YYZ. Duuuuuummmmm da dum dum.

Yes there is. Air Canada has decided not to take part in the gala event today so the GTAA called other airlines to take place, hence why Westjet ferried it's best and nicest looking plane to join in.

Interesting. By the way, did anybody catch the CBC's National yesterday with a long story on the new Terminal?

Yes i did captain....but on another note about YYZ the GTAA has taken their arrivals off their web page and departures as well....that is a f'n bummer....I can't really believe that "security" is getting that way. How do we know when the flight is supposed to arrive? Oh well looks like we will have to have a runner head into a terminal and get the info needed?

Just thought that i would point that out...hmmm more news tonight on the new terminal?

Grant,

The webpage has been updated. On the web page at the top there is a flight search option for you. Go to Advanced Search and you will still get all your arrivals and departures for YYZ. It's still there...and improved.
