Help . . . Do I Choose Delta Or USAirways ? ? ?

I will be going to TPA in March, and i'm getting ready to purchase tickets. Fares are very low from IND!...

I can go on Delta for $160 round-trip (IND-ATL MD-88, ATL-TPA 767-300, TPA-ATL 767-300, ATL-IND MD-88)...or USAirways for $187 round-trip (IND-PHL F-100, PHL-TPA 757-200, TPA-DCA 737-300, DCA-IND F-100).

I've been on MD-88's (all the time), 767's (back-and-forth between IND and ORD), F-100 (never have been on), 757's (in and out of SEA), and i've have, believe it or not, never been on a 737 in my entire life!

What should it be?

I'm a big fan of US Airways. However, my suggestion is to take Delta. Avoid PHL at all costs. PHL the biggest cause of delays in the US Airways system. If you can get a flight through PIT, do that. I like DCA, and I like the F-100s.

I know that ATL is known for delays, but PHL is notorious for ground stops, especially on Friday afternoons.

Honestly, unless I belonged to a frequent flier program with US Airways or Delta, I would rather take the non-stop evening flight offered by Southwest Airlines. Prices should be comparable and you won't have to worry about making a connection or possible connecting airport delays.

I would choose Delta, it is more convenient. I mean you fly south to ATL and south again to TPA. On USAir, you fly east to PHL, and south to TPA. and back north, west and north,north.

Plus- The 737&f-100 aren't that good, and Delta is cheaper.

Delta is cheaper, so if you looking at costs, do that. If you want the variety of airplanes, then USAir. I've never been on an MD-88, but love the 767. I'd go Delta if it was my choice.

go with the us airways, fly on an aircraft that you havent before it is more fun

I would probably go with Delta, since the airfare is cheaper and your not going very far out of the way to make your connection. The only problem is Atlanta traffic. The do a good job, but sometimes it can become a mess on the taxiways at ATL. But I might also spend the extra $27 and fly USairways, since I have never flown them before. Also, I really like the F-100 and 757, but the problem would be making the connection through PHL.

I'd Go USAir

My suggestion is to take the USAir, because it offers you a couple of experiences you have not had - - the F100 and the 737! After all, sooner or later everyone's gonna fly on a 737 since they're the most prolific plane in history  

As for me, I would choose whichever offered daytime flights. Both being equal there, I'd go with DL because i have not had an MD80 orr 767 experience!

I was checking their website and WN offers fares on their nonstops (in both directions) in the $69 to $85 range (each way).

For the convenience of a nonstop, this should be a no-brainer.

Lots of things can happen to you when you make connections and the vast majority of them aren't good - delyas, missed connections, mishandled baggage, etc etc.
