Montreal - Toronto Help Needed

Mon Dec 08, 2003 7:03 am

Anybody knows what a 1 or 2-day midweek return YUL-YYZ would cost and any advice on which airline to take?

Best deals on Jetsgo.net.

They have something like 7 daily MD-80 return flights on YYZ-YUL.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

If you'd like some options, and a very reasonable priced ticket, I would suggest WestJet from Hamilton. www.WestJet.ca Enjoy! E-mail me (address in profile) if you require any assistance.

I would also go with Jetsgo. The prices are cheaper than Westjet, and the flight is the same. You can also get the Loonie Sunday deal!

I would fly AC. They have some really cheap fares (so called Tango Class, if you're not fussy about collecting "Status Miles" with Aeroplan). Best scehdule for sure.

If you wanna collect Star points and access premium amenities and the most flexible schedule, go with AC. If you're crafty, you can get an AC fare for the same as a Jetsgo fare, but you need to be crafty!

If you want the lowest fares on all seats on all flights, slightly less flexible schedule a tad more inconvient (the worst gates @ YUL), oh and don't value your life, take a chance on Jetsgo.

If you wanna arrive 30 mins MINIMUM late to Montreal, take VIA.

Isn't AC planning on shutting Tango down?

The name lives on as a seperate fare class on all mainline AC flights. It's cheap, but you can only accumulate 50% Aeroplan points, and have zero flexibility.

The problem with YHM if you're just visiting Toronto and don't have a car, is getting there. I doubt if there's any direct public transport to YHM from downtown Toronto. Even if there is it'll probably take at least half an hour longer than getting to YYZ.

You might want to consider the train, it's about a 4 hours and Via Rails offer very comfortable cars and great service. The flight is about 1 hour and 10 minutes but if you start to calculate the time to get to the airport, check in deadline, security, flight, waiting for your bags and the ride from the airport to city at the other end, it is close to 4 hours.

The Westjet service to Montreal out of YHM does not target people living in Toronto. I mean you could fly for the same price out of YYZ on either Jetsgo or if you can get the Tango fare on air Canada.

Whoever drives all the way to YHM to catch a flight to YUL must be nuts.
