Additional South African (SA) Flights Into ZRH ...

Tue Dec 09, 2003 11:04 pm

SA will operate two extra flights on the JNB-ZRH vv. route during the peak season around x-mas.

One of the reason is, that South African reduced their 4 weekly flights from 342 to a 330 (which is leased from TAM).

18DEC03 JNB-ZRH 2200-0735+1 SA3278 342
20DEC03 ZRH-JNB 0735-1855 SA3279 342

09JAN03 JNB-ZRH 2200-0735+1 SA3278 342
11JAN03 ZRH-JNB 0735-1855 SA3279 342

Both planes stay 24 hrs at ZRH. Is there any particular reason for that? Why don't they return on the same evening they arrive? Would SA have traffic right to return on the 19DEC03? I mean they don't have a regular flight on that day.

Sad South African really needs to expand their routage.... Let's say into Toronto. There are many people here who travel to SA and that would be a wiser decision that moking more flights into Europe..... IMO

Seems to me they should route more flights to North America in general. Make a stop in Lagos or somewhere in Africa then head to ORD or YYZ. Not sure if the pax are there to support multiple cities but a few probably could handle the flights.
