CX New Business Class Question

Wed Dec 10, 2003 8:31 am

I am scheduled to fly from SFO to HKG on 12th night in Cathay Pacific.
Does anyone know if the scheduled aircraft for that day is fitted with the new Cathay Business Class?

I checked the Cathay Pacific web site and it listed the Aircraft Type as "EQV"

I think the new business class it fitted to all but a few remaining aircraft now, so unless you are unlucky, you should get it!

CX New Business Class Question

Wed Dec 10, 2003 4:48 pm

I know for a fact that all of the A340's have been converted, but there are still some 744's in the old style, but I THINK they are only used around Asia. Maybe someone can confirm this point?

Airbear,
No, apparently they do the longhauls too. Just took B-HUE, an unconfigured 744, between MNL and HKG two days ago. According to the monitors, the same plane was slated to do the SFO run immediately after as CX872.

isn't it the Cathay business class the one which had complaints of passengers slipping off the seat because the incline wasn't enough to get it parallel to the floor of the plane?

Currently the aircraft scheduled for your trip in December will have the New Biz Class and AVOD is available. Hope you will enjoy your trip with Cathay Pacific.

*Edit> There are only few 744 left with Old Class seats and like Airpearl has said, they do fly on Long Haul routes.

AirxLiban: Yes, it is, but these problems have been fixed now.

Flyer0001, hope you have a pleasant flight on the new business class on our airline!

Currently CX873/12DEC is going to be operated by B-HUI which does have the new business class

HOS,HUB,HUE and HUJ are the four remaing 744 aircraft with old business class. These 4 will have been modified by early March 2004

I flew CX Business Class SFO-HKG back in May of 2001 on the A-340, long before the new Business Class seats. One thing I can say, CX's service is incredible. Simply, one of the best flights I've had. Having AA personnel check-in the flight did CX no justice to the service and attention once onboard the aircraft.

Have a great trip!
