Ground Korean Air, Before They Kill Again.

Wed Jan 12, 2000 1:09 am

Enough is Enough !

Korean Air have continued to prove that they are one of the most dangerous airlines in the world to fly on. They have almost crashed one (or more) of all types they fly !!

747-400 YES
747-300 YES
747-200 YES
747-200F YES
A300 YES
DC-10 YES and on and on.

Have you seen today the 747-200F that arrived in Malaysia with a huge hole in the body !!, the crew have no idea how it happened !!! . This is a week after the 747-200F crash in England and months after the MD-11F crash.

This airline is a joke and they should be stopped NOW .

Anyone buying tickets on this carrier should get some medical help !

Well, it's difficult to disagree it's a dangerous airline. Unfortunately, politics comes into it and to be quite honest, there will be more fatal crashes and nothing will be done. It occurred to me recently that not only have Korean air crashes killed close over 700 people, this includes at least five 747s Think about it :
HL 7442 KAL 007 shootdown
HL 7445 Crashed on landing Seoul, 1980
HL 7451 Crashed near STN, Dec 99
HL 7468 Crashed Guam
HL 749? Crashed on landing Seoul (744)

I have a feeling they lost a 747 at Manila, but I can't find the details; anyway, it's a pretty poor showing.

Easy There...

Wed Jan 12, 2000 2:58 am

Your pretty pissed I can see that..
but sh*t happens!
They do crash a lot from what ive heard and seen on the news..
And yes its strange that how they got such a wicked fleet these crashes still happen. There only problem is there staff... yup fire all there pilots and works that work with them now.. and hire brand new fresh pilots. they should start fresh with a new livery and a new look.

Well, You Have To Be Extreme!

How can Mish say 'easy there' when human lives are at stake?
How can the FAA wait until a jet goes down to say, 'Well, I guess we might make that airplane so it can fly!'
How can so many people die and so few people respond to someone who cares about this?

The answer my friend is blowin'...

okay, enough melodrama, but I think I've gotten my point across. I agree with N754PR. By the way - what is N754PR?

Right, firstly, GoA340; you can find a photo of the Korean Air incident at PEN under the Professional Pilots Rumour Network - look under "Fragrant Harbour". It's just a little hole in the fuselage. In fairness to them, it must have been hit by something. They could not have flown all the way from SEL with something like that.

N754PR is a 747-469 Combi, originally built for Kuwait Airways, but now operated by PAL.

Why doesn't the Korean government just ground the whole airline until it is sorted out. I know that there is national pride at stake, but surely killing innocent people all over the world would damage the Korean name more than shutting the airline down?

You know, from what I hear, Asiana is not much better. Just luckier...so far.

The Korean 744 that was written off in seoul was HL7496.

You can see photos of the holy Korean 742F at airdisater.com.

Pandora, I leave for my holiday on the 18th. Will depart about midnight on BA28.

Well KAL need's to be ground i work at lax and at the wherehouse I have seen them build a 20 footer with nothing but DG's and even Two 20 footers on one flight.. The F.A.A. is a joke in it's self they turn there heads untill something happens. I hope Atlas is not letting KAL pilots fly there 747-400s. Also send your Input to Kal at www.koreanair.com maybe if they hear our input...

P.S. trust me I will never trust Korean Airlines or fly with them Never.. i worked for them 10 years and did not like the way they where running then..
