Interesting Visitors At ZRH

Thu Dec 11, 2003 3:32 pm

Hi all,
Can anybody tell me what the following aircraft do at ZRH? Romanian B707, Tu-134 and a Yak-40? When will they leave ZRH?
Thanks for any info!

All these aircrafts brought officials to the Geneva summit. There were too many aircrafts at Geneva so some of them had to fly to Zurich, Basel and Lyon for parking.

Romanian 707 is in ZRH because the Romanian President attends a summit in Geneva (something about the role of science in the informational society). Is it this one, am I right?

It's YR-ABB, parked on the western apron, planned to leave this afternoon back to GVA. Happy shooting as the weather is just beautiful (but f... cold).

I saw the Romanian B707. But what the heck was the BAC 1-11 doing there? I couldn't get the complete reg (it was something like "VP-..."), as I had to take pictures  Wink/being sarcastic

Thanks for all the info.
Unique, do you know when they will leave ZRH, especially the Bac 1-11 and Tu-134? If they are still sitting at ZRH I will take some pics tomorrow.

Yak-40? What Yak-40?

Could it be that he means UR-87591 that visited ZRH last weekend? It's AFAIK the last Yak-40 we had here...

Ok guys, some specific answers: The Yak-40 UR-87591 had nothing to do with the GVA summit. It came from and went back to Kiev KBP.

The Novair A332 was here on a regular maintenance visit and had also nothing to do with GVA.

The BAC111 VP-CCG diverted to ZRH due to fog at FDH and it left for FDH as soon as the visibility became acceptable for them (also no relation to GVA).

The Tu-134 of Armenia Gvmt. is a direct "victim" of the overcrowded parking situation at GVA Airport and will leave at 8am this morning (12th Dec.).

Gulfstream 4 A4O-AB of Oman Gvmt. will also leave for GVA tonight at about 6pm.

Fred, I hope you were able to take the B707 leaving yesterday (sorry, didn't see your question till now).

Cheers
