I was on a delay for a flight into ATL
one time (go figure!), and I heard this really great conspiracy theory from a passenger.
Seems as though he'd been doing a lot of thinking lately, and had come up with a plausible (to him) reason for Delta's new livery change. Now, since both Delta and Coke are both headquartered in Atlanta, it would only make sense that the two cooperate on some sort of marketing agreement, right?
I agreed that, yeah, this is probably more than likely, that Coke employees do most of their flying on DL
; and in exchange DL
offers Coke on its flights. Then he finished by saying that, because of this agreement, DL
recently painted the tails of their aircraft with the wavy red and blue logo because it was similar to a Coke can!

Additionally, he figured that Coke probably paid DL
a significant amount of money to do this for "brand recognition". So, it would appear that DL
beat out for offering their aircraft for advertisements!!
