I can remember walking across the ramp to ride a commuter flight on a pass. I was walking and talking with a gentleman about my own age. It was a bright sunny day, and he looked at the airplane, looked at me, looked back at the airplane, turned and said "That airplane's blue. I always thought they were black!" This was said with a tone of complete amazement.
To me, it will always be USAir, Damn it. I'm old and set in my ways!
. The employees call it USAir, too. I've never heard anyone refer to it as US Airways in conversation. It's clumsy on the tongue and it sounds funny.
USAir has a nice crisp sound.
US Airways sounds, to me, as if it were dreamed up by someone with way too much time on his hands.
