What Do You Think About Tiltrotors?

Thu Dec 18, 2003 8:22 am

As you may know, the Bell/Agusta BA-609 civil tiltrotor is now well into its flight testing program. In a few years the 6-9 seat aircraft will be entering service with the capability-according to the Bell/Agusta website-to operate in several roles, from corporate transport to offshore use and search and rescue.

I'm wondering what everyone thinks about tiltrotors. Do you think that they will revolutionize air travel with their ability to operate VTOL point-to-point over much greater ranges and speeds than helicopters?

p.s. Please keep the discussion limited to the possibilities for civil/commercial use.
Long live the A330!
