How's Life At Your Airtran Station

Tue Dec 23, 2003 1:06 pm

Just wondering who things are going in your neck of the woods this holiday season.

not an employee of FL, but here are the weekday ops at FLL:
ATL X8
PHL X2
BWI X2
and of course, the daily Gulfport route (the ORIGIONAL FL point-to point route!)

we could use some more BWI... maybe an LGA or 2... another Gulfport. I though I saw Flint, once upon a time. And what about DFW?

Life is ok here at RSW, alltho getting a little crazy. We have:
4-ATL
1-BWI
1-DCA
1-PHL
They just added a 8PM ATL flight.....which is a misconnect nightmare when its running a little late : (. Its helping me with my IROPing skills. All this week our push back tug has been broken (doing power backs all day long).

2X TPA
1X MIA
4X MCO
3X MKE
1X RSW
3X ROC
1X FPO
1X DFW

To tell you the truth, I've been taking a hiatus from spotting/flying set to resume on January 10, 2004. I had to take a break, and get my priorities in order. School, Girl, ETC... But I will be at Montanas once again, and I will be back in ATL soon. This year, I am also going to SAT, and TPA. I have a very busy year. The AirTran station in GPT has:

2XATL
1XTPA
1XFLL

Kind of sucks considering at the peak of our operation we had

3XATL
1XDFW
1XMCO
1XHOU
1XTPA
1XFLL

I guess people are getting tired of the casinos. Lots of old (90 year old) people were coming down here anyway and holding up traffic.

I thought this was for FL employees but I guess not
Wichita has 3XATL service right now with 1 flight currently operated by Air Wisconsin but all flights switch to AirWis on January 6th...glad I'm flying them on the 2nd so I could enjoy the 717s before they leave ICT.
AirTran's had a strange relationship with Wichita it seems...things have gone back and forth between better and worse since they got here. Hope things get better for them here. At least it seems like AirTran's fairly optimistic with Wichita despite all the problems.

FLairport:

huh? Please explain...

BR715-A1-30:

You didn't list it, and I know it wasn't during the "peak" of GPT's operation, but GPT can boast it was the LAST AirTran station to serve BNA.

I though I saw Flint, once upon a time

FLL-FNT operates every Saturday:

FL 253 FNT 1053-1355 FLL
FL 252 FLL 1435-1735 FNT

Of course, about a week or two after airTran announced FLL-FNT, Northwest announced FLL-FNT. Not only that, but NW and FL's FNT-FLL flights depart only two minutes apart.

Doing well here in Atlanta. The 9pm push is great; 31 flights, 28 gates. Plotting the gates is always a thrill. The in-range radio never stops. The outstations send us 100 misconnects as opposed to taking care of them (not all of you, but you know who you are). But, I wouldn't trade working in the hub for anything...except for an SOC position or a station manager's job.  Smile
