Turbobrop Performance Question

Wed Dec 24, 2003 10:32 am

Iwas wondering if a member of Bombardier's ''Q'' series turporops, one of the most efficient aircraft as I read, can successfully land and take off on UNPAVED runways. Can any other modern turboprop (ATR family, for example) do that ?

I think (keyword being "i think") First Air's ATR42s can take the gravel strips, I know the HS748s can and part of the reason they got the ATRs was to start dumping some of the older 748s....

HS-748, just like a 747 but better!
