Swiss International Air Lines will make adjustments to its long-haul network in summer 2004 and winter 2004-05 that will permit it to reduce its long-haul fleet by two to 18 aircraft as specified under the present business plan.
Service to Cairo will be increased from five to six weekly frequencies. In addition, from summer to winter, flights to Boston, Montreal, Hong Kong and Tokyo Narita will decrease slightly while services to Miami, Johannesburg and Bangkok-Singapore will increase. Flights to Newark, Los Angeles and Sao Paulo also will decrease in the summer.
Services between Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires no longer will be operated by Swiss but will be entrusted to a partner airline under a codeshare arrangement. Swiss said it is currently in talks with a number of candidate carriers regarding these flights.
**The previous post only had the Latin American topic of LX
