What`s Happening With The Arrested Virgin Pilot?

Fri Dec 26, 2003 7:35 am

Hello, does anybody know the fate of the Virgin Jumbo pilot who was arrested last week for having alchohol on his breath? Was there a publicised breath test result? Also, whilst on this subject, how long before their next flight do pilots have to stop consuming alchohol?

It is 8 hours bottle to throttle by Fed Regs although a lot of companies say 12 hours as policy.

The accused, an American named Harwell, was arraigned last Monday in Loudoun county General District Court in Leesburg, VA. He was charged under a Virginia state statute forbidding consumption of alcohol prior to the operation of an aircraft. Not sure of his trial date; he was ordered to surrender his passport. His family is in London.
