Avianca A320?

Sun Dec 28, 2003 4:44 am

Yesterday I flew from Bordeaux (BOD) to Paris Orly (ORY) and I saw 3 former ACES A320 (with Summa/Avianca colors) stored at BOD airport, near EADS/Airbus facilities.

With the merger of SAM-Avianca-ACES and after the bankruptcy of ACES, do you know if Avianca/Summa operates A320 or are they all withdraw?

Avianca/Summa does not operate A320s. AV operates M80s, 757, and 767, and I believe SAM operates M80s on behalf of AV, as well as F27s. ACES did operate A320s, but they are all now withdrawn.

Copaair clarified some things, though I have one correction to make first of all. Neither Avianca nor Sam operate F-27, they only operate Fokker 50.  Big grin

When Avianca, Sam and Aces merged as Summa Alliance, they operated at one point 8 A320 in intra-colombian routes and some international legs aswell. When ACES stopped operations, they withdraw all their A320 and ATR-42 also. Currently AV covers with 757 and MD-80 the routes that ACES formerly operated with A320, such as BOG-MIA, BOG-FLL, BOG-LIM, MDE(Medellin)-MIA, CLO(Cali)-MIA, CTG(Cartagena)-MIA and BAQ(Barranquilla)-MIA.

Right now, as posted before, Avianca operates Fokker 50 in regional and some domestic services, MD-80 and 757 on domestic routes, and 757, 767-200 and 767-300 on international operations from their hub in BOG and from other cities aswell. No A320 currently.
