SnowStorm `99

Sun Jan 03, 1999 6:23 am

How difficult is it to land in this kind of a storm that is going on in the Midwest of the United States? If you're not in the Midwest, it is really horrible! The snow is drifting into big piles of 3 ft or even more. It must be a big mess at O'hare and everywhere else to move all this snow off the runway. 70% of all flights are delayed or canceled. However flights arriving from Tokyo and Hong Kong arrived. Well, does anyone really care? Maybe not.

Yea, were getting some snow in DEN :-) Here in Longmont (general aviation airport), flying almost totally stops during/right after snow storms, but soon after the storms are gone, the runway is plowed and everything goes back to normal.

I would if I had to go to the Unites States today because I always go through O'Hare at the beginning of each trip. But it's OK, American Airlines always takes good care of me.

I woke up this morning, and more than a foot of snow blocked my doors shut! I live in Dayton, Ohio. Now, we're having freezing rain. Oh boy, that's fun! My sister's boyfriend was supposed to be fly up to visit us today. He was flying from Charlotte to Cincinnati with US Airways, but the flight was cancelled. Looks better for us tomorrow.
