AA MD-80 At DFW West Hangar

Tue Dec 30, 2003 12:36 pm

As we were taking off today from DFW, I noticed an AA MD-80 at the west hangar facility. It was parked and was covered with some sort of orange stuff that was all over the fuselage and on the ground. Since it was 50 degrees, I know it wasn't de-icing fluid.

Any ideas?

Perhaps the next retro-jet?? With the MD-80 so dominant at AA, perhaps they should do one (or a few more) with the type just to spice up the fleet a little.

It was most likely de-icing training for new ground crews for AA at DFW. This is a regular winter occurance.
See you up front!

Makes sense! Thanks AA7573E! I heard the cold weather is going to hit us next week - but it will be 70 degrees this weekend.
