Airport Landing Fees/tariffs

Tue Dec 30, 2003 7:00 am

My wife and I have been looking all over the web for a listing of the fees that each airport charges to allow aircrafts to land there. If any one know some of the fees or knows where to find this information it would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regard,

Go to http://www.airnav.com and click on airports. Type in the name or identifier and at the bottom once it loads, there's a list of all the FBOs on the field, and also restaurants, hotels, etc. Call one of the FBOs and ask them, they'll usually know the airport's fee and of course their own fee too, if they have one.

If you were wondering about commercial aircraft, an FBO would not know that info. Usually it's agreed upon in the leases for aircraft serving them. I'm not sure where it might be published, but usually there is a fee for normally-serving(signatory) airlines versus airlines that are not normally-serving (non-signatory) airlines. It's usually based upon the aircraft weight.

At MSY, and this is the case at most US airports, an airport's landing fee is based upon the max landing weight of an aircraft. This figure is computed per 1,000 pounds of landed weight.

In addition, signatory carriers (those that have signed leases with the airport operator) will generally pay a lesser landing fee than non-signatory carriers (those that don't have signed leases).

Currently, MSY's landing fees are:
$3.44 per 1,000 pounds for signatory carriers.
$4.21 per 1,000 pounds for non-signatory carriers.

Our landing fees do rank higher than most other US airports, but our airline counter/space/office fees are a lot less than most.

http://www.panynj.gov used to have the NY landing fees, but I don't find it now.
