Sat Jan 03, 2004 7:00 am

Is Birdy Airlines still operating flights to Africa for SNBA ? Or was it taken over by them ?

Birdy has not been taken over by SN (yet).

Sobelair ( Belgian charter airlines) could be taken over by Birdy (or SN ???)
and talks are currently going on since Sobelair's future urges to take action quickly (they are about to be put Chapter 11 - "concordat").

Wether SN will take Birdy or Birdy/Sobelair is not known so far.

Talks between SN and Virgin Express were -are ?- also going on on Virgin's request ... as such the outcome is not easily predictable at this stage.

Cheers,

Pat

Birdy is a small company (headed by Georges Gutelman and Victor Hasson former CTB bosses) which have 3 A332 (former Sabena) and which are used on the SNBA's african flights.

Is it a leasing (Birdy is the lessor and SNBA the lessee) ?

first it's 3 a333.

All of 3 are leased by birdy which operate the african flight for SNBA under a contract from april 2002

Why SNBA leased directly the 3 333, nobody knows!

actually snba will buy birdy in the next months, with this cash money, they (Hasson and Gutelman ) will invest MAYBE to save sobelair.

Finally birdy was during 2 years virtual airline
