JetBlue JFK-SEA New Flights?

Mon Jan 05, 2004 8:27 pm

I was wondering if Jet Blue Airways has any plans to increase it's flights on the JFK-SEA route. I have heard the current daily flight is doing very well.

It's experiencing very high loads (from what I've heard), but JetBlue has had a problem getting gate space in SEA. They currently use the later night/early-early morning shift at a gate that another airline operates day flights out of. However, I have heard that US is shifting their gates, so that may open JetBlue up to some space...

You may want to email them and see what the deal is.

And just why has Jet Blue not started Long Beach to Seattle????

Isn't it true that Jet Blue is nearing capacity at Long Beach, and that the Airport Comission is being very tight lipped and taking a hard stance against allowing additional frequencies... I.E. In order for Jet Blue to expand... American, or America West will have to drop a flight??

I heard US in moving into the N-gates with UA. The A con is suppose to open up by summer. So there will be about 10 new gates or so. Northwest will get back all the S-gates to themselfs.

What is Northwest Airlines going to do in Seattle as far as code share or flight options now that American Airlines and Alaska Airlines are formally signing a extensive code share agreement?

From what i've heard there is a big announcement to be made tomorrow morning the 6th of Jan, it's about new service but i have no clue exactly where. There's lots of rumors flying of where we'll be going next of course.

As for why we're not flying to SEA from LGB - the only other airline operating the route was Horizon which just got replaced last month by Alaska 737s. I guess the route was doing well.

JetBlue seems to like to start new routes and not really try to compete with existing carriers running routes. I think we learned our lesson with ATL, next time we go head to head with another carrier we'll save up some planes, and flood the market like Delta did to us.

Keep your eyes and ears open...

Akjetblue:

thanks for the heads up! didn't even know they were going to make an announcement tomorrow. can't wait to hear what it will be about! i'm also looking fwd to know what kind of IFE will be introduced as well  Laugh out loud

as for JFK-SEA...loads are usually full since theres just one flight a day (just like our ONT flts). maybe once we get the gate issue solved and/or move to a different part of the airport that isn't used as much then maybe we can add more flights...

Isn't one of the most possible new destinations.... SACRAMENTO!

The airport commission has been very tight lipped and was thrown for a loop back in 2001 when Delta cancelled the inauguration of JFK nonstop! The airport commission has been after Continental for Newark service as well.. However, Sacramento suffers from a lack of service!

SMF-BUR

SMF-PSP

Sacramento has no connection to Long Beach, or New York /JFK!

Yeah, that is no connection to JFK either and it should need to beef up for jetBlue wants to added more new nonstop from JFK-SMF anytime soon. So what are you guys think about these airlines goes to JFK? I know which one of Continental Airlines was used to EWR flight, too.

US Airways has already moved all there operations to the North Terminal @ SEA. It now shares it's gates and ticket counter with United Airlines in Seattle.

I hope Jet Blue Airways expands in SEA. That would be sweet to see SEA-LGB, SEA-OAK, SEA-ANC and increased SEA-JFK.
