"So tell me how many employees are PERMANENT "FULL TIME" staff working for Qantas and I'm not talking about CONTRACTORS here!"
employed 34,000 full time equivalents the largest number in its history. The trend to casualisation of the workforce isn't confined to any 1 company in Australia and to make some sort of conclusion about QF
because they might employ more casuals than before is stupid. Plus considering post Ansett expansion of QF
I'd say that all the new pilots, FA
's etc would be full time employees. So not only is the total workforce bigger, but the number of full time employees in the direct flying operations of the company have also increased.
"You should have a look behind the seens if you think Qantas is such a great carrier, making cost cuts everywhere possible."
If I have a look behind the scenes all I see is one of the worlds most profitable carriers, run by an increasingly efficient workforce, that work on planes that are having new interiors installed, new menus created and award winning in-flight entertainment. (Plus what Beno said above) If you don't like that then dont fly them, you can always go Air Canada to Hawaii.
