What Kind Of License Do You Have

Sat Jan 10, 2004 1:35 am

I have a private pilots license with an instrument rating. What kind of license or rating do you have, and how long did it take you to get them?

As a Flight Engineer I have the following ratings
Piston [recip]
Turbo-Prop
Turbo-jet
Supersonic
How long did it take well 32 years with unusually the piston rating coming last
Sure was along time, but had a lot of fun in the process

I hold a license to teach elementary school, grades K through 8, in the state of New Jersey....  Laugh out loud

Flying continues to be my dream, and I envy all of you with a pilot's license. When I am more secure in my career and the kiddies have grown, I hope to fly at least a Cessna 172, even if only VFR.

For now, however, this is the best I can do:

Private SEL, and hopefully in about 8 weeks, also my instrument rating. PPL took me 39 hours and the instrument will have taken about 50, a lot of that being the minimum 50 hours XC PIC time.

I have my commercial ASEL/AMEL with Instrument. I also have my CFI (ASE) and MEI. I am currently working on my CFII. It took me three years to get through my commercial, took a few months off and then finished up my CFI in a month. My MEI took another 3 months (long story).

Sushka, why did you do multi-commercial before single-commercial. Rather an expensive route to go wasn't it. BTW good luck on the ride.

Oh yea. I have Private ASEL and AMEL. Airplane instrument. I was supposed to have my commercial ASEL checkride on Sunday but it's not going to happen now. Weather and maintenence checks have kept almost all of our 182RG's down recently. Imagine the luck, One's down for an annual, another an new engine, and another somebody sideloaded really bad in a crosswind an screwed up the main gear. Oh well. I'll get the ride done eventually.
