Do You Have A Pilot Application On File At SWA?

Sat Jan 10, 2004 8:10 am

If so, you might want to take note of this...

Southwest Airlines will begin accepting Pilot applications on January 12, 2004. All interested Pilot applicants must apply through our new automated process at www.southwest.com. Applicants should access the Careers section of the website and follow the prompts to the online Pilot application. Previously received applications will not be transferred into the new system. Interviews will not begin until the 2nd quarter of 2004.

I'm going to apply, but I'm sure my application will be deleted before a person even looks at it (I only have 500 hours).

Jhooper,

Any applications that don't meet the minimums probably won't be deleted, just held until you get them. Keep building those hours, hopefully we'll see you in a few years!  Smile

Lots more info on pilot hiring is available at http://forums.flightinfo.com.

Any body that has a application on file automatically got a letter stating this fact. It's not news.

And just so you know.. it wont let you go any further if you dont meet the minimums... I tried! I'm not 23, don't have 2500 TT, and dont have 1000 turbine PIC... oh well...my name and such is sitting in there. Will have 2500 hours shortly and will be 23 in a little over a month.

I could well be news for those whose letters don't make it to them for whatever reason. Mail gets lost. People commute and/or change mailing addresses, etc.

Just trying to offer some friendly redundancy...

Man, that's impressive for 22. I'm 24 and must be falling WAY behind the power curve. And I started flying at 14.
