LAM Linhas Aereas De Mocambique

Wed Jan 14, 2004 1:00 pm

I flew LAM many times when i was young from Maputo to CDG on its DC10. I think it was a weekly flight. Anybody flown them recently? Also, when was the DC10 replaced by the 762ER? Is its L1011 still in service?

Beautiful livery:

I flew them recently from JNB to Maputo saw the 767 parked at Maputo, I think it had come in a little while ago from Lisbon.

My personal experience

Old Plane
Bad Service
Bad Food
Bad Seats

Bad state of interiors

Everything was bad except the livery

Even a worse experience at the Airport.

On the flight back since LAM has a shortage of aircraft it was a charter i think Lebanese or turkish which was flying for them under Lam flight numbers as scheduled flights with a lebanese crew. ...& It was a bloody old plane a 727 and i had the most turbulant flight of my life

But the good old Hotel Polana was very nice.... Mozambique has changed a lot especially Maputo in the recent past

LAM uses its B767-200 on only two flights per week, MPM-LIS on Friday and LIS-MPM on Sunday. Monday through Friday it sits on the ground in Maputo. Possibly the worst utilization in the world.
