Hello-

I have a feeling that they won't be replacing them under the Canadian name, but instead buy more A330s and have them fly under Air Canada. But this is just my guess, and only that.

I would think that AC would take the opportunity to rationalise the whole fleet. The DC10s and 737-200s would be first for the chop and will never be repainted in AC livery. The 767s probably stay on for a good while, although they are GE powered (AC uses PW on 747s and 767s).

I would imagine that both the AC and CP 767s would be replaced by A330s and A340s. The A340s would probably be used to replace 767s across the Pacific and the A330-300X could operate most routes across the Atlantic, formerly operated by the 767-300. The question is, what will happen to the 747-400s. AC now has seven and I would expect AC to increase its 345/346 order to account for these and the new routes for which it has applied.

Again, just my guess.

I am guessing A330/A340.

Anyways- this merger really sucks. What next, Aeromexico/Mexicana?
life wasn't worth the balance, or the crumpled paper it was written on

I have the understanding that AC just ordered 30 more 767's, 200's, or 300's, I didn't hear.

When did AC order 30 more 767-200's? News to me. I thought AC was getting CP's 767's. What next?

Actually, Aeromexico and Mexicana are owned by the same holding company... Happened back several years ago during privitization when a strike almost wiped out Mexicana the Aeromexico team bought them out...

ac will probably not need to replace the '10's . with no competition AC can redistribute it's fleet . It will reduce the frequency of many flights, thus reducing the dependence upon older types.
