Although it looks a bit too plain to me, I like the (desert) sand colour used on the fuselage. It would have been much better if they would keep the green tail the "old" livery has. That would have added more colour to the airline's livery as a whole. Overall this new livery does give PIA a more modern look, even though there is too much white in this livery. It probably looks much better in the sun, this photo doesn't really show the livery at its best because of the rainy grey background.
How come that for the last couple of weeks it seems like jetphotos are getting new/important pictures faster than a.net. That bugs me !
Because the quality standards are higher here at airliners.net. With most situations this wont matter, but it is inevitable that the more rejections that get dished out from here that some newer shots are going to get to the other sites faster. This is life.
If this is PIAs smart idea of saving painting costs by having a plain white aircraft then Im sorry because this is the limit of nonsense!!!
WHAT A HORRIBLE LOOKING LIVERY!!! IT IS DISGUSTING...MAKES THE PLANE LOOK BALD...
That green was the symbol of PIA to the world!!! They should have adopted the same livery that they applied on the new CX B 743s when they first arrived with the new shiny green etc. THIS IS JUST PLAIN HORRIBLE!!!
JAT, PIA, Cyprus Airlines, Air France, Ethiopian: 13 in a dozen. Boring en lack of inspiration however new PIA with a green tail, green engines and white PIA-titles (on the fin) would make the scheme much better
Artsyman Picture quality looks as good as many of the rainy/overcast weather photo's that have been accepted at airliners.net, I can dig out loads for you to see, the truth is that many photographers do not like to post at a.net anymore due to the attitude of the administrator/founder.
Obviously you're bothered that "First's" are no more exclusive to this website.
The sand color could be more darker and the engine cowlings(?) too.Plus the tail should be green like theyr previous c/s!!Then it would look a lot smarter.I prefer the B777 over the 340 anytime!Would look great on Finnair's colors i think.
Although the livery is nothing spectacular, I think the livery is not all that bad. The aircraft would have looked much better if the sand shade was a bit darker. Also, weird to see no influence of urdu calligraphy on the aircraft livery. I would give the livery a score of about 54%.
Incase you havent been around S A S operated their white tails for like 30 odd years before deciding to paint then in another colour, PIA have had green tails from the day they were born, about time they changed.
Has a conspiracy theory surfaced in Pakistan yet that would explain the striking resemblance to El Al?
After looking at the photo again, it actually is not as plain as I first thought. It looks like the fuselage behind the El-Al stripe is kind of beige. I think a photo on sunny day would be a little better.
I guess it would have looked better if they would have given the tail the same sandish colors as the rear of the fuselage. Other than that I do kinda like the livery.
Well but I also think that the "boring" ElAl livery is one of the greatest out there so it always depends on what is made out of the plain white.
Along with AP-BGJ, AP-BGK has also been painted and both will be ready for delivery to PIA in about 2 weeks time.
The PIA MD suggested slight changes to the new livery, by replacing the tail with a waving Pakistan flag and placing the PIA title alongside the fuselage replacing `Pakistan`. But these changes are too late to be made, now that the aircraft have already been assigned with a colour scheme.
