VH-EAL - Gone Forever?

Thu Jan 15, 2004 6:22 pm

Was at the domestic terminal in Sydney this evening and noticed 767-238 VH-EAL with kangaroo painted over in red but Qantas titles remaining.

Just wondering - was that this birds last departure from Sydney? Whats happening with it?

That leaves only 4 767-238's in the Qantas Fleet

VH-EAM
VH-EAN
VH-EAO
VH-EAQ

They are all due for disposal before the end of 2004. Not long now before their all gone.

Thanks

This question is related to Crosscheck's post:

Are they slowly taking the B767's away, and putting in the A330's?

No, the 762s would be gone, but the 763s will probably stay for a long time doing the bulk of high density domestic routes. In the future, Qantas will have the A380, 744, A333, and A332 doing International flights while the 763, 738, and 734 will do domestic services.
