Enough leg room would be a good start.

IFE is always welcome but only really needed if the flight is longer than 5 hours.
Where have all the tri-jets gone...

Having a 747 with a pitching mound. That way if it gets to be turbulent I could say "look at the break in my curve ball today." Or "Look at that pitch, it went up about 4ft." Because of this I could pretend that I was a Major league pitcher like I wanted to be at one point in my life. Also a Lazy Boy it would be great also personal rooms. But that what it is a Dream interior. Today's cabins are good to me so I cant complain.

Back in about 1986 there was a 707 turned into a restaurant just off the cargo area of the Manila Intl Airport (MIA) It was first a pan am pax plane, then bought and converted by Robert Vesco, the world famous con man. Elvis Presley bought it and it was reworked in Dallas to replace his old Marten , but he died before he could ever see it done. Somehow it ended up as a place called the "Club 707" It was permanently parked with a nice ramp in the rear that was covered in a canopy, and lit up like a Vegas Casino entrance. The interior of the plane was just too cool to describe! A sauna, master bedroom, a little wooden dance floor, but it had two dining areas that were big and comfortable. With the noise of the nearby runway, you could imagine what it must be like to be inflight and dine like this! Food was truly bad! Cooked in a stall in the parking lot, and hustled up to the plane! Mostly Filipino food.. I was back in Manila last year and was told the place closed, and the plane was busted up and hauled off...Anyone going to Manila please see about this! I have lots of Photos for anyone who wants them, I don't have a scanner here right now, but I'll have my daughter do it for you.

My dream cabin would be about like Virgin Atlantic's Premium Economy or BA's World Traveller Plus, except over the whole plane, not just one tiny section. Maybe make the upper deck of a 747 into a separate dining area with some tables like the dining car on a train. And laptop power and Internet connections for every seat of course. Audio channels would include XM radio as well as the equivalent of United's channel 9. Video channels would include Airshow of course, and live camera views looking outside in various directions, and also a view of the cockpit like American used to have on their DC-10's.

My dream cabin would be the upper deck of a 747SP in the mid 1970s... with a spiral stair case, shag carpet, a bar, people hanging out in polyester suits, with the butterfly shirt collars, dudes with afros, and musak covers of disco playing subtley in the background.

Groooovy baby... YEAH!  Wink/being sarcastic

What I think should be standard on every airliner:

-Minimum 33" seat pitch

-Comfortable, ergonomic seats with foot rests or leg rests (not neccessarily leather)

-Attractive color scheme and upholstery designed to distinguish the airline from its competitors

What I think should be standard on long-haul flights:

-Minimum 35" seat pitch

-A passenger lounge to enable passengers to stretch their legs and relax in flight

-A special section for families with small, noisy children, curtained off to deaden the noise

Already flown it, and it is the new VS Upper Class:

The seat

The Bed

The Bar

Include in that the V:Port audio/video-on-demand IFE system, the in-flight massage treatments, a full menu which you can choose to eat what you like when you like, and other unique touches like the Sleep Suits (comfy to change into, rather than sleeping in your jeans!) and that's my dream interior. Could I add anything to that? Maybe an in-seat Ethernet port for broadband Internet access, and some diversions like a Casino for those long flights (but then, that may be coming with the A380).

It would be great to have a few showers on the aircraft, especially for long-haul.

A ban on babies  Smile Oh, and a yellow/red card system for all children who refuse to behave - yellow is their warning, red means a future ban from all my cabins until they're 18.

And I'd love metal cutlery, etc. back  Sad
